What is a good skincare routine?
Don't we all know this scenario: a pimple suddenly pops up before an important event or you notice those fine lines around the eyes for the first time... You then go on the hunt to buy the 'best' skincare to immediately get rid of your worries to get rid of. You end up with a bathroom full of skincare, but your problem hasn't gone away. Recognizable?
Dr. Barbara Geusens, founder of Nomige, notices far too often that people go for the wrong make-up and skin care products. That's why she created Nomige, an effective and personalized skin care routine consisting of only 4 products that brings maximum benefit to your skin.
What is a good skin care routine
Dr. Geusens is convinced that it is almost impossible to make a one-fits-all product that addresses all your skin problems. If you're in your early twenties, blessed with good genes and don't live in a challenging environment with sun exposure, pollution and extreme weather conditions, a single product like sunscreen may be enough for you. But these are quite a few criteria, don't you think?
The aging process is unstoppable and could use some support to keep your skin in good condition. Carefully selected anti-ageing ingredients in your skin care products can contribute to this. Check out our skin tip in which Dr. Barbara Geusens you learn more about skin aging
Keep this in mind when mixing skincare from different brands . Just as you shouldn't mix Tonic with Baileys, this sometimes also applies to your skin care. If you've ever had more severe acne , chances are your doctor has recommended benzoyl peroxide cream to you. Did you know that benzoyl peroxide and certain vitamins work against each other? Benzoyl peroxide has an oxidizing function to clear clogged pores. Vitamins C and E are anti-oxidants that basically work against oxidants. So when these vitamins are oxidized by benzoyl peroxide , they lose their properties and are no longer good for the skin.
Also, do not combine vitamin C with anti-ageing peptide cream or probiotic cream with preservative-containing products. These combinations can easily negate the function of each other.
These are just a few examples to show why you need to carefully craft your skincare regimen to get the most out of your products.
A helpful tip is to get information by looking at the ingredient list. A fairly 'good' skin care product usually contains between 10-30 ingredients . Ingredients are chosen not only according to their activity on your skin, but also according to their ability to enhance the effect of an active ingredient, guarantee stability, prevent microbial contamination, etc.

WHY 4 PRODUCTS?
The first order always consists of 4 products: day serum, day cream (lifestyle cream), night serum and night cream . Each product benefits your skin in a unique way because it is tailored to your DNA profile . Some say 4 products is a lot to use every day, while others are surprised you don't need much more. Here's how a Nomige skincare routine is put together.
Ingredients do not contradict each other
Now that we've talked about the fact that ingredients can work against each other, you understand the importance of the right cocktail of ingredients . The advantage of Nomige products is that the active ingredients are distributed over the 4 products to ensure maximum activity and stability of the product. In this way, Nomige is able to apply a more targeted approach as each product focuses on something different such as collagen production, antioxidant protection and hydration.
Nomige skin care routine
With only 4 products, Nomige takes into account exposure to UV rays and pollution, skin type, lifestyle and a predisposition to aging (derived from DNA).
Air-free packaging
Nosome uses airless packaging for each product. This is in contrast to products that are filled in a jar so that when the lid is removed the ingredients are exposed to air, light and pollution, which can have a negative impact on the ingredients and the effect of the product. You can easily cut through it, you can enjoy the last bit of product that remains.
By using a limited number of effective products, you have a better overview of your routine, so that you know when to purchase new products.
Time saving
Because time is precious , there is no need to spend long hours in the bathroom for your skin care routine instead of cooking, reading or cuddling with your loved one. Therefore, using 2 products in the morning and 2 in the evening can save time for your daily activities.
Combination of Nomige with other products
VITAMIN A
Dr. Geusens himself is a fan of retinol , a derivative of vitamin A , as it has been supported by studies for its anti-aging effect on the skin. However, Nomige does not contain vitamin A because it is effective for every skin type, which does not fit Nomige's personalized concept. In addition, it is not always well tolerated by everyone (sensitive skin, pregnant women, etc.).
You can easily combine it with Nomige products. Add it in the last step of your evening ritual , after applying the night serum.
VITAMIN C
Vitamin C is already included in the Nomige day serum in combination with other antioxidants such as superoxide dismutase. The use of extra vitamin C is not really necessary for protection against UV rays and pollution.
If you want to add a high concentration of pure vitamin C product to Nomige skin care. Use it preferably in the morning and mix it with your day serum .
