How to get rid of a dry skin

We can't deny it: winter and its accompanying ailments are here and will stay for a while. The temperature drops, the heating goes up. The air dries out and so does your skin. Here are a few tips on how to hydrate your skin.

Recognizing dry skin

You can recognize dry skin by: redness, flaking or cracking. You will notice this especially after taking a shower or bath. Your skin is weakened, feels like it is going to crack and needs extra care.

First of all, avoid long and hot showers or baths. It sounds contradictory, but Too much water is bad for dry skin . It dries it out even more. You can hydrate your skin from the inside out by drinking enough water or increase the humidity in your home by using a humidifier or by hanging humidity trays on your radiator.

Please note: dry skin is not the same as dehydrated skin and therefore requires a different treatment. Discover here is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin . Or check out our skin tip below.

Our skin tip

3 Things are important: cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing

  1. Cleanse your face once a day , in the evening before going to bed with a mild lotion that does not foam. An oil-based lotion removes dirt and makeup and is gentle on the skin. 2-in-1 cleanser from Nomige is ideal as the first step in your cleansing routine.

  2. Than peeling to remove dead skin cells . Do not use a grainy scrub but an exfoliating tonic based on fruit acids, salicylic acid or enzymes. A good peeling ensures that your skin absorbs moisturizing and active substances more easily. The exfoliating tonic from Nomige is the finishing touch to your cleansing routine.

  3. Hydrate your skin daily with a hydrating and nourishing face cream. A good moisturizer helps your skin to maintain the moisture balance and support the skin barrier. Hydrate both during the day and at night, but make sure your night cream has a lighter texture so that the active ingredients can be absorbed well. A lighter texture does not make your skin lazy and puts your skin to work: hydrating from within.
